During my early law enforcement career, I was a correction officer with the New York State Department of Correctional Services (DOCS), for ten years. While employed with DOCS I became a member of the Department's Elite Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU). As a member of the CIU team I learned first-hand on the importance of Inteligent's gathering and the crucial role that intel analysis plays in deciphering roar intelligences.
After leaving DOCS I went on to work for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation - Division of Law Enforcement (DEC/DLE). While with the DEC/DLE I served as a uniformed Environmental Conservation Police Officer (ECO) investigating violations of the Environmental Conservation Law. After being promoted to Investigator I took on more complex investigations to include serious injury and fatal hunter related shooting incidents, cause and origins investigation as they relate to spills and dumping cases.
Later I served as the Chief Environmental Conservation Officer, overseeing of Office of Professional Standards AKA Internal Affairs.
Also, while working for the DEC/DLE I was awarded my bachelor's degree in Human Services, through Empire SUNY. I attended the Federal Burau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA-265) Leadership training and obtained my Master Instructor certification through the NYS Division of Criminal justice.
